Today, Becca and I were playing with a broken hula hoop and making letters with them.

“Wow, so many letters we can make. I guess I am the Letterman”, I observed.

“I want to be Letterman”, Becca replied.

“You’re a girl. So, you could be Lettergirl”, I corrected.

To which Becca replied, “I’ll be Letterperson.”

    That’s my girl!

Another in the Guess-You-Had-To-Be-There (GYHTBT) series.

Benjamin pronounces the word “Small” in the most unusual way. The closest approximate phonetic transcription I can imagine is: “Hmall”, an exhale replacing the “S”, followed by the rest of the word, the “mall” part.

But here’s the kicker: Instead of pronouncing the “H” using an exhalation via his throat, he exhales the ‘H” using his nose only, sometimes even crinkling his nose as he does it.

It’s very cute, made even cuter when the context is a discussion of who is big and who is small in which he usually affirms his own smallness.

Love that boy! Like I said, GYHTBT.

Becca came home today – last day of school for the term – with the following:

    Becca's best-student-of-the-month certificate

Don’t sweat the Thai, the one spot of English says it all:

    Best Student of the Month

    That’s my gal!
